About Barbra Cannon Eaton


Barbra is not just another painter who knows a few faux techniques, but a formally educated  fine arts master and a decorative finish consultant.Her expertise is in the enhancement of walls,ceilings,niches and architectural elements.She specializes in color consulting and is often called upon by other interior designers for her mastery of enhancements. Renowned for her ability to achieve a clear understanding of her clients needs and desires, she will create a unique, appropriate solution for the artistic expression of their surroundings.
 
She began her career as a  stained glass artist and mosaic designer. She was trained by  Smith Stain Glass Studios in Fort Worth, Texas and had the honor of working for four years on what was then, the largest mosaic in the United States. This huge,beautiful mosaic was created for The First Baptist Church of Huntsville Alabama and is to this day a tourist sight. 

Upon recognition of her design skills, she was recruited by one of Fort Worth's leading print companies as a commercial graphics artist to design logos and t-shirts for famous companies like Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Arbies and more.     

Her professional education consist of attending the University of Arlington and North Texas State University for degrees in Fine Art and Interior Design. In 1999,she was certified as a Faux Effects Master by Barth White, a Las Vegas revered artist, who's work is found in The Bellagio, Caesars Palace,The Venetian, The Paris and many more.She has training in advanced classes with numerous internationally renowned mural artist and recently studied refresher classes with world famed mosaic artist Sonia King and England's acclaimed Emma Biggs. 

Her expansive experience and knowledge has opened many doors for her and resulted in commissions to work on various unique and fun projects. One of these quirky jobs was for a strip center in Bedford, Texas. The work resulted in 6 sculptured figures placed on the building.  This project became a landmark that is loved and recognized by all of the locals.
Barbra has also  worked on 5 major motion pictures as Art Director and Set Designer, three of which where for Roger Corman Productions of Los Angeles. This too was quite a side step from her normal design work.
In 2006, she was asked to design and paint two large wall murals to educate children on fire safety. This whimsical work can be found at the Frisco,Texas Fire Station's "Safety Town", a wonderful learning center for children in the DFW metroplex.

With the formation of her company Divine Designs, her focus has been more on creating fabulous walls, ceilings and decorative finishes. This year she has expanded her services to include specialized mosaic designs and a process she has developed for installing embossed "faux tiles". 
Barbra has vast experience in managing and coordinating multiple crews and providing assistance to other project managers in the selection of subcontractors, vendors and generally problem solving.
Past projects include construction, remodeling,refurbishing, and ambience improvement of offices,banquet halls, restaurants, salons, sports bars, showrooms and custom homes.
You can see by her portfolio that she has mastered a broad range of painting styles from old world to ultra contemporary. This is due to the 35 plus years of experience and training in vast artistic creations. Each project was uniquely designed for it's special client. Barbra's work is found in high end homes across the country and accenting restaurants, offices and numerous public places.
